A tribute to Lloyd A man of stature he surely was, A man of stature who had a cause. He gave his time everyday, He gave his time to lead the way. Although his sons were grown and gone, He knew inside he’d found a home. To guide young souls, down a shining path, To show them how to live with class. Men like him are one of a kind, And very often hard to find. Although he grumbled now and then, His goal in life was to mold good men. Let’s hold fond memories when we think of Lloyd, The life god took will leave a void. He sits in heaven, we know that’s true, Still looking over the boys in blue. So when you sit by the fire at night, And watch the flickering coals in flight. As the wifts of smoke ascend the air, Think of him and know he’s there. -Rick Clayton 6/04- |
